Structures Congress 2015: Session PP42
This session is organized by the Structural Engineering Licensing Coalition (SELC). The SELC is made up of the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), the National Council of Structural Engineer Associations (NCSEA), the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB), and the Council of American Structural Engineers (CASE). The presentations will discuss the common ground that brought these four separate organizations together on structural engineering licensure followed by a panel discussion. Because structural engineering licensure or the lack of it is on the minds of structural engineers around the nation, this session topic will be of national interest. The target audience for this session is practicing structural engineers. Attendees of this session will learn what is being done nationally to promote structural engineering licensing, why it should matter to them, and what they can do to help.
The following presentations will be made during the session:
- Introduction to the Structural Engineering Licensing Coalition - Presenter: J. G. (Greg) Soules, P.E., S.E, SECB
- A Common Vision of Structural Engineering Licensure - Presenter: Barry Arnold, S.E., SECB
- The Need for Structural Engineering Licensure - Presenter: Stan Caldwell, P.E., SECB
- Opposition to Structural Licensure - Presenter: Gregg E. Brandow, Ph.D., P.E., S.E.
